Turnkey 4-Court Pickleball Sports Arena & Academy

Project Overview

Apex Sports Arena required converting an unused 8,500 sq.ft. outdoor open area into a state-of-the-art 4-court pickleball facility to host local tournaments and daily coaching academies in Lucknow.

The client required an international-standard cushioned acrylic surface that minimizes joint impact for senior players while delivering true, consistent ball bounce for competitive tournaments.

Engineering & Execution Scope

Gymscape was awarded the turnkey execution covering civil sub-base rectification, acrylic synthetic surfacing, tournament netting, perimeter enclosure, and anti-glare sports lighting.

Key Milestones Delivered:

1. Sub-Base Civil Surface Preparation:
   • Precision diamond grinding of the concrete base to eliminate high spots and surface laitance.
   • Application of heavy-duty deep-penetrating epoxy primer for maximum chemical adhesion.
   • Application of acrylic resurfacer mixed with silica sand (Grade 80 mesh) to rectify low depressions and ensure a 1:120 water run-off slope.
2. 8-Layer Synthetic Cushioned Acrylic System:
   • 2 coats of elastomeric rubber particle cushion coat for high shock absorption.
   • 2 coats of fine cushion acrylic formulation for uniform surface elasticity.
   • 2 coats of heavy-wear color concentrate (Tournament Navy Blue playing field with Forest Green safety runoff surround).
   • 2 coats of UV-resistant, textured polyurethane line markings in crisp white.
3. Perimeter Enclosure & Fencing:
   • 12 ft high heavy-gauge GI chainlink fencing with custom windbreak screens.
   • Center partition fencing separating adjacent courts to prevent stray ball disruption.
4. Sports LED Floodlighting:
   • 8 galvanized 6-meter lighting poles equipped with 300W anti-glare sports floodlights delivering an average of 350+ Lux across all courts for night play.

Results & Facility Impact

• Completed within 18 calendar days from initial sub-base grinding to final tournament line marking.
• Successfully hosted its inaugural inter-club pickleball tournament with 60+ participants.
• Zero water pooling observed during heavy rains due to calibrated gradient engineering.
